Implementation Project Manager; Observability and Monitoring

Piper Companies is hiring a Implementation Project Manager (Observability and Monitoring) for a large technology company located in Raleigh, NC. The Implementation Project Manager (Observability and Monitoring) will lead cross‑functional teams, coordinate timelines, and ensure successful adoption of Data Dog to enhance observability, performance monitoring, and operational reliability.
The Implementation Project Manager (Observability and Monitoring) role is a contract to hire opportunity and requires you to sit hybrid several days per week in Raleigh, NC.

• Lead full‑cycle implementation of Data Dog across infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments.
• Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and communication frameworks to ensure project milestones are met.
• Coordinate with engineering, Dev Ops, SRE, and leadership teams to define monitoring requirements and integration strategies.
• Oversee setup and configuration of dashboards, alerting, APM, logs, and metrics within Data Dog.
• Ensure best‑practice adoption for observability, performance monitoring, and incident management.

• 5+ years of project management experience within IT, Dev Ops, or cloud‑focused environments.
• Proven experience overseeing Data Dog implementations or managing similar observability/monitoring platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern infrastructure.
• Familiarity with APM, log management, incident monitoring, metrics collection, and alerting strategies.
• PMP, CSM, or related certification preferred but not required.

• $60.00 - $80.00 per hour
