Openshift​/Kubernetes Admin

Responsibilities

• Work with the sterling team to support their app in both pre‑prod (via Snow tickets) and prod (Change tickets/CTASKs) for changes.
• Test connectivity between endpoints for services to/from the platform to validate firewall connectivity (both pre‑prod & prod) either manually or via automated jobs.
• Scale pods/deployments wherever needed (both pre‑prod & prod).
• Update config maps, secrets, routes, services, or other K8S/Open Shift objects (both pre‑prod & prod) manually or via automated jobs.
• Log and monitor container platform activity.
• Provide log data of objects on the container platform when not available in the logging tool (e.g., TCP dump).
• Monitor warnings & alerts on the container platform and follow up on those actions in SNOW (e.g., creating incidents based on alerts and helping to resolve/escalate them to get resolution).
• Update/renew certificates for objects on the container platform (e.g., ingress certs, route certs, wildcard certs, etc.) both pre‑prod & prod, either manually or via automated jobs.
• Help with patching updates of the container platform (both pre‑prod & prod) – either manually or via automated jobs.
• Validate apps on the container platform after either application (e.g., sterling) or infra updates (e.g., patching, F5 B2X changes).
• Provide incident‑management support as first responders to monitor and collect data about issues and, if needed, follow the escalation process to involve the container admin team for RCA and resolution.
• Create SOPs, KB articles, and utilize them.
• Create and maintain DR plans for unforeseen situations.

Hands‑on experience with GUI and CLI Open Shift/Kubernetes commands.
