Piper Companies is seeking a Dev Ops Engineer to support a leading organization within the technology industry. The Dev Ops Engineer role is ideal for an engineer with strong Dev Ops expertise who also brings prior Java development experience. This position will focus on modern infrastructure, automation, containerization, and Git Ops‑driven delivery practices.
Responsibilities- Build, enhance, and maintain Dev Ops pipelines and deployment workflows using Git, pipelines, Helm, and ArgoCD.
- Support and optimize Linux‑based infrastructure, including Tomcat application servers and containerized environments.
- Implement and manage containerization and orchestration solutions such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Open Shift.
- Develop infrastructure‑as‑code and automation solutions utilizing Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt, and AI‑driven tooling.
- Monitor systems, performance, and application health using modern observability platforms.
- Collaborate with development teams, leveraging prior Java experience to support CI/CD and environment reliability.
- Support database‑related needs including Oracle, SQL queries, and cloud database services such as RDS.
- 5+ years of Dev Ops engineering experience with strong hands‑on exposure to Linux systems and containerized environments.
- Previous Java development experience and ability to support Java‑based applications throughout build and deployment.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Tomcat, Open Shift, and monitoring/observability tools.
- Strong Git Ops and automation skills with Git, pipelines, ArgoCD, and Helm.
- Hands‑on experience with Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt, and automation best practices.
- Knowledge of Oracle databases, SQL query optimization, and RDS or similar cloud database services.
- Salary range: $125,000 – $145,000 depending on experience
