IT Consultant, Systems Analyst
Overview
The IT Business Analyst will play a key role in supporting enterprise-wide infrastructure modernization initiatives, with a primary focus on helping application teams upgrade or migrate their platforms to supported versions of operating systems and databases. This role directly contributes to the organization’s evergreen strategy by driving the remediation of applications running on obsolete or extended-support technologies.
Responsibilities- Partner with Application Teams:
Engage with application owners and technical teams to assess current-state environments and determine upgrade or migration requirements for operating systems and databases. - Plan and Coordinate Upgrades:
Facilitate structured planning discussions using established project methodologies and guidelines to define the appropriate upgrade approach, scope, and timeline for each application. - Execute Against Plans:
Track, monitor, and drive execution of application upgrade activities, ensuring progress aligns with agreed-upon schedules and enterprise objectives. - Risk, Issue & Decision Management:
Document and maintain clear, accurate records of risks, issues, decisions, assumptions, and dependencies throughout each upgrade or migration effort. - Cross-Team Facilitation:
Work across matrixed teams – including infrastructure, security, database, and application development—to remove impediments, escalate blockers, and ensure successful delivery. - Communication & Reporting:
Provide regular status updates, progress reporting, and stakeholder communication to ensure transparency and alignment across business and technical groups. - Support Standards & Compliance:
Ensure upgrade paths adhere to enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and technology lifecycle policies.
- Experience supporting infrastructure, application lifecycle, or platform upgrade initiatives.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to coordinate work across multiple teams and manage competing priorities.
- Familiarity with operating system and database lifecycle management is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications

Raleigh, NC;
Richmond, VA; or Wilson, NC. - Strong emphasis on collaboration, project management, and alignment with enterprise standards.
- Preferred:
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM); deep functional expertise in merger integration, IT transformation programs, or related areas.
Availability:
Able to work all hours scheduled, including overtime as directed by manager/supervisor and required by business need.
