Overview
ERP Business Analyst II (Finance) provides functional support for the user community and D365 development team in the design, development, configuration and testing of ERP Finance and Accounting modules. Works on multiple functional tasks of medium technological complexity. Identifies and recommends functional and technological solutions. Acts as the ERP Finance subject matter expert (SME) and manages ERP Project Tasks for the ERP Finance area.
Facilitates and leads other SMEs in gathering requirements for the system.
- Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT Department and ERP Vendor to provide technical and business solutions to meet user needs.
- Possesses expertise in the business unit(s) they support—Accounting, General Ledger, Credit and Collections.
- Analyzes business unit operations to identify strengths, weaknesses and opportunities to automate processes and functions.
- Assists in business process redesign and documentation for new technology. Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications.
- Performs functional analysis, requirements definition and ERP Accounting module configuration and testing.
- Responsible for conducting prototypes, developing functional specifications, data mapping, function mapping, and configuration of tables and transaction/control tables.
- Understands business processes to analyze requirements and develop solutions for business functions.
- Identifies and resolves gaps in business processes.
- Involved in security/authorization setup, user documentation, data interface design, data migration and reconciliation.
- Analyzes information gathered in process reviews using Six Sigma tools, as applicable, to align with current and future business needs; assists in recommendations to leverage ERP capabilities.
- Assists management in determining reporting needs and writing project requests. Participates with programmers in designing and testing reports to meet user needs.
- Analyzes, develops and conducts training to ensure employees are proficient with the ERP System; creates useful training materials.
- Contributes to the development of departmental user operating procedures and documentation describing how individuals conduct business with the ERP System while understanding user needs and appropriate documentation standards.
- Provides Help Desk support to Business Unit Operations within established priority guidelines.
- Conducts business problem investigations at the request of a general manager and provides a written report with at least two solutions and a recommendation.
- Identifies enhancements or extensions to the ERP System and/or external systems; evaluates costs, benefits and impact for management review.
- Maintains complete and accurate documentation on policies, procedures, processes, training materials, and related information.
- Tests and debugs current and future ERP releases and other IS department systems following IS procedures.
- Constructs test scenarios to verify functionality and feasibility of new and existing capabilities, including current and new business processes and procedures.
- Assists in developing conversion plans for future system changes, understanding business requirements and the magnitude/complexity of the conversion effort.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field. Or equivalent work experience in the Business Unit.
Required Work Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of IT or Accounting work experience in ERP systems/application development or support functions, or 5 years of experience in Gregory Poole Equipment Co. Finance/Accounting with a good understanding of existing business processes.
- Microsoft D365 F&O - Finance including the following modules:
Ledger;
Fixed Assets; A/R;
Collections; A/P;
Procurement. - Must possess intermediate skills with D365 and the Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Power BI).

- Adult training/facilitating experience.

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time using a PC and telephone.
OTHERMust have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, when interfacing with groups or individuals. Must be able to translate technical scenarios into simplified, understandable terms for non-technical users. This is not a remote work position.
