SimpliGov Modernization Developer

Pay Rate: Depending Upon Experience

Type: 12-month contract

The Client is seeking a Sr. Specialist for a critical project to replace an on‑premises custom‑built solution to a new web‑based incident reporting application/information system on the Simpli Gov platform.

• Experience configuring and building complex workflow automation applications using low‑code and no‑code platforms.
• Experience developing custom objects, workflows, validation & business rules, and trigger notifications.
• Any System Administrator, Developer, certifications experience is preferred.
• Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) concepts and process.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Project.
• Experience creating dashboards and reports.
• Experience with integration tools such as Boomi.
• Experience with data conversion.
• Experience or working knowledge of managing and maintaining Active Directory integrations and importing users and associated AD attributes along with SSO integrations.
• Experience with SharePoint end user experience, sites, libraries, lists and groups.
• Must have previous experience in working with State/Government ecosystems, preferably in Healthcare/Mental Health/Medicare & Medicaid environments and have worked on projects with tight deadlines and not‑to‑exceed budgets.
• Must have strong familiarity with agile methodology, tools, and frameworks, i.e., Scrum, Kanban.
• Participate in and own SCRUM ceremonies along with the Project Manager and Business Analyst.
• Experience with software implementation projects and with Cloud technologies.
• Ability to evaluate existing small‑scale .NET applications (C#, ), understand their business processes, and determine the most suitable modernization platform and rewrite them into modern platforms such as Simpli Gov, Power Apps, Service Now, or Salesforce.
• Strong skills in reverse‑engineering legacy applications to capture requirements, workflows, and user needs before redesign.
• Experience moving on‑prem SQL Server databases to Azure Cloud, including schema migration, ETL, and validation.
• Migrating SAS/Access‑based reports into Power BI for automation and interactive dashboards.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Synapse Analytics, and Blob Storage.

• The experienced developer will work on application development, integration development, and maintenance of the application.
• This individual will collaborate with stakeholders and other Agile team members to develop a reliable, secure configuration from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Provide support and troubleshooting for ongoing development issues reported by users during testing.
• The resource will test finished incremental components and provide feedback to the vendor.
• Regularly monitor the Simpli Gov environment to ensure system health, uptime, and performance.
• Monitor APIs and Integrations.
• Assisting in performing functional and integrated testing.
• Preparing and maintaining project documentation and artifacts, including analysis, reports, and user documentation.
• Supporting required system go‑live activities.
• Attending Project meetings and own SCRUM deliverables.
• Assess and re‑engineer small‑scale .NET applications into Power Apps, Service Now, Salesforce or Simpli Gov, ensuring business logic is preserved and optimized.
• Work with stakeholders to document current business processes embedded in legacy applications and translate them into modern workflows.
• Execute SQL Server → Azure Cloud migrations, ensuring data integrity and performance.
• Transition SAS/Access reports into Power BI dashboards with automation.
• Prepare and maintain project artifacts, reports, and user documentation.
