Senior Data Engineer - Focused on Snowflake Data Architectures
This role will be responsible for building, migrating, optimizing and maintaining Snowflake environments for this organization. This is a unique opportunity in that you can be a part of a high growth fintech company in Raleigh with plans for substantial growth for both the company and the individuals in it. This role is Hybrid and requires candidates to be onsite 3 days a week in the Durham office.
Key Responsibilities- Architect, implement and integrate Snowflake-based lakehouse architectures from scratch.
- Configure and manage Snowflake accounts, resource monitors, virtual warehouses, and access controls.
- Apply best practices for data partitioning, clustering, and caching to improve performance and reduce costs.
- Automate ingestion pipelines, metadata handling, and system health checks across the ecosystem
- Utilize SQL for queries, stored procedures, and data processes.
- Partner on Data Governance Needs.
- Support CI/CD processes and automate deployments and pipelines.
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering.
- Hands‑on experience with Snowflake projects – from scratch and migration.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
- ELT/ETL experience.
- Experience with RESTful APIs.
- Experience with cloud ecosystems (Azure, AWS).
- Utilization of orchestration tools (DBT, Airflow).
- Strong background in Agile and Dev Ops practices, including automation and pipeline deployment.
- Plus if you:
- Able to work with insurance or financial data governance.
- Hold certifications such as Snow Pro Core or relevant cloud certifications.
- Have Financial Services / Insurance Industry Experience.
