Job Summary

The HRIS Specialist is responsible for entering employee data transactions into the core HRIS system and ensuring that the data is entered accurately as part of a centralized shared services team supporting locations across the USA. The HRIS Specialist clarifies information prior to entry if any uncertainty exists and ensures that submitted changes have received the appropriate approvals. As a key member of the HRIS team, this role also provides project support and assists in testing for system upgrades and implementations.

activities
  • Process a large volume of employee data transactions in the core HRIS system (currently Lawson), ensuring accuracy, completeness and timely entry in accordance with the service level agreement.
  • Analyze employee data against submitted request to ensure data accuracy and that proper action is being processed.
  • Review submitted documentation prior to processing to ensure appropriate support and approval has been received.
  • Partner with station HRBP’s to complete any missing or correct inaccurate information and establish strong customer service relationships with assigned stations.
  • Advise and train HRBPs on core HRIS processes and required documentation, and escalate concerns to the Regional HRBP Managers as necessary.
  • Provide assistance with various HRIS projects and play an integral role in testing for system upgrades and implementations.
  • Audit employee data to ensure system database integrity and compliance with internal controls requirements.
  • Gather and upload required supporting documentation to database for history and compliance tracking.
  • Recommend process improvements and ways to streamline work and increase efficiencies.
  • Reports directly to the HRIS Supervisor.
  • Regularly communicate with the HRIS Supervisor regarding requests or issues and escalate any concerns as appropriate.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all employee records.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Your profile
  • Knowledge of and experience with HRIS systems (Lawson preferred).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • One year HR or related experience including experience entering data into an IT system.
  • Associate’s degree in HR or related field preferred.
