Description

Summary:

This position will serve as the primary individual responsible for integration of new providers and ongoing management of physician-related operations for statewide UNC Health System Service Line.

Responsibilities
  • Leading People
    • Provide administrative supervision and oversight for service line provider team.
    • Partner with Med Group and service line leadership to address behavioral or performance concerns related to providers.
    • Ensure regulatory compliance of all providers including annual training requirements, required education, and compliance with organizational policies.
    • Assist with resolving patient concerns related to providers.
    • Serve as the main point of contact and liaison for new providers and their families during onboarding.
  • Leading Change
    • Develop, implement, and manage strategic provider onboarding program focused on positive integration, provider satisfaction, and retention.
    • Streamline onboarding by creating standardized templates, welcome packets, and processes.
    • Coordinate logistics for new hire items (lab coat, ISD equipment/access, office setup, etc.).
    • Collaborate with Physician Recruitment, Med Staff Services, Provider Enrollment, and other departments to improve pre-boarding/onboarding.
  • Results Driven
    • Manage provider schedules to ensure provider coverage statewide.
    • Coordinate temporary provider staffing needs and develop/manage provider float pool.
    • Work with leadership to determine staffing needs and ensure timely hiring/onboarding dates.
    • Create and utilize reporting to track providers' status throughout the onboarding process.
    • Provide routine and ad hoc reporting to service line leadership.
    • Partner with patient experience to identify opportunities to improve satisfaction results.
  • Business / Operational Acumen
    • Manage financial operations for service line providers, including compensation and incentives.
    • Partner with Medical Group Finance to manage provider compensation.
    • Manage requisition submission process and coordinate with Physician Recruitment for challenges or delays.
    • Ensure operational efficiency through strategy development and execution.
Qualifications
  • Education Requirements:

    * Bachelor’s degree required
  • Licensure/Certification Requirements:
  • Professional Experience Requirements:

    * Seven years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of three years' experience with physician services and/or onboarding services and at least five years in a management role.
