Director​/Section Chief: North Carolina State Center Health Statistics

Overview

Section Chief, State Center for Health Statistics — North Carolina Division of Public Health is hiring. This role sits at the intersection of data, research, and public health impact, leading social research and evaluation efforts that inform policy, program design, and statewide decision-making. The Social Research Director will partner closely with program, data, and executive leaders to translate complex findings into insights that improve health outcomes for North Carolinians.

• Lead and advance applied social research across public health programs
• Shape how research and evaluation inform strategy, equity, and resource allocation
• Collaborate across NCDPH and DHHS to support evidence-based decision-making
• Build and mentor a high-performing research team

• Experienced public health leaders with a strong foundation in social science methods, evaluation, and data interpretation — and a passion for public service and population health.
