Job Duties
The Department of Agricultural and Human Sciences at NC State University is looking for a part‑time Nutrition Program Research Assistant to support the delivery and evaluation of two nutrition programs, including the Health Extension for Diabetes (HED) program (a diabetes education and support program) and the Phyto Rx Families produce prescription program. Duties will include helping with participant recruitment, data collection, program delivery, data analysis, manuscript writing, and presentations.
The Nutrition Program Research Assistant will also help the Project Coordinator with communication efforts among project participants and stakeholders. This position will also include compensated travel to eastern North Carolina to interface with the county‑based NC State Extension Family and Consumer Science Agents, and other state and community‑based agency/organization professionals and volunteers.

Minimum Experience/Education- A bachelor’s degree in nutrition, public health, health behavior, or a health‑related field.
- Experience conducting nutrition/health behavior research, including collecting objective nutrition and health data (A1C, blood pressure, Veggie Meter scans, CIR breath samples, height, and weight).
- Organized, dependable, and excellent communication skills.
- 2 years of experience conducting nutrition/health behavior research and collecting nutrition and health data.
- Valid driver’s license.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $21–$25/hr
