EKG Tech II - Night Shift
Night shift: 18:30 - 07:00
• Shift: 12 hours
• 36 hours per week
• Weekend requirements: 2 weekends per 6 week schedule
• Weekend Shifts = Sat & Sun
• Work week = Monday
- Sunday (biweekly pay period)
- Operate electrocardiograph equipment to record the electromotive variations in heart muscle actions.
- Prepare patient for electrocardiogram by explaining testing procedures and fastening electrodes to specific areas of arms, legs, and chest.
- Enter patient information into electrocardiograph including history number and patient s name.
- Remove electrodes; add billing charge to requisition slip; review electrocardiogram for technical acceptability and rate.
- Mount electrocardiograms for interpretation by physician; code and distribute EKG data; record and file information relating to tests performed.
- Clean, adjust, and perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Assist in the training of new personnel.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
- Education:
High School Graduate or GED - Experience:
1 year successful experience as an ECG Technician I - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Establish and maintain effective working relationships;
Deal tactfully and courteously with the public;
Understand and follow oral and written instructions;
Accept responsibility for accuracy and responsiveness;
Work under pressure;
Perform ECG and ECG related studies;
Basic computer skills - Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification: N/A
