Position: Medication Technician (PT 1st & 2nd shift))

Overview

The Medication Tech / CNA @ The Cardinal at North Hills is responsible for the delivery of quality care by encouraging independence and ensuring each resident’s physical, social, cultural, and intellectual well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Medication Technician must have a CNA certification
  • 2nd shift (3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.) and 3rd shift (11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.)
  • Provide medication setup and assistance; observe residents for changes in condition and report to supervisor; document and report changes of condition
  • Log in medications from pharmacies, verify physician’s orders, communicate concerns, track all medications, and reorder as needed
  • Track residents’ vital signs, diabetic testing and/or insulin injections, ambulation, etc.
Qualifications
  • CNA: must be licensed in North Carolina verifiable through online registry
  • MT: must be a licensed Medication Aide verifiable through online registry
  • Must provide certificate of completion of 10-hour and 5-hour or 15-hour Medication Technician Certification course (we will certify after 90 days of solid employment)
  • High school education or GED; nursing assistant course completion
  • First Aid certification and CPR, if required; must meet state training requirements and/or certifications
  • Must be 21 years of age (or meet state requirements); have current First Aid and CPR certification; CNA if required by state
