Medical Technologist II

Overview

Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests and other procedures for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Utilize requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems. Evaluate and report patient results using considerable independent judgment within the scope of established testing methods. Perform quality control procedures and contribute to the maintenance of the laboratory, equipment, and supplies. Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and instrumentation.

May assume responsibility for one or more laboratory projects or functions such as performance improvement, safety, quality control, regulatory, administrative, staff development, and computer systems. Train new employees and/or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures and serve as a resource for less experienced staff. Perform other duties as assigned.

• American Society for Clinical Pathology Preferred
• National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel Certification Preferred

• Associate's Degree Medical Laboratory Technology Required
• Associate's Degree Medical Technology Required
• Bachelor's Degree Clinical Laboratory Science Preferred

2 Years Clinical – Clinical Laboratory – Moderate and High Complexity Testing Preferred.
