SummaryEcho Cardiology department seeks a Cardiac Sonographer to perform high‑quality studies. Studies include transthoracic echo, transesophageal, Definity contrast, saline bubble study, and stress echo. The sonographer will generate preliminary reports for interpreting cardiologists. The hospital has five ICUs, including a newborn ICU; proficiency in pediatrics is a plus.

Hours:
Friday‑Sunday
- Demonstrate competence in pre‑procedure and post‑procedure patient care, including patient assessment and emergency cardiac care. CPR is required.
- Ensure equipment is calibrated and properly maintained daily. Perform and record all equipment maintenance and quality assurance, troubleshoot any problems, and report to the supervisor or biomedical engineering.
- Generate ultrasound images of the heart and/or vascular structures and perform advanced cardiac ultrasound studies on patients with complex conditions.
- Perform vascular studies and provide real‑time readings/reports during invasive and non‑invasive vascular procedures in the operating room.
- Perform studies for inpatient neonatal/NICU and pediatric patients.
- May perform staff training and education; serve as a subject‑matter expert and resource to cardiovascular sonographers.
- Monitor and record patient information, maintain report storage and data systems, compile and enter data for charge entry, and retrieve stored information and reports from the automated storage system.
- Prepare procedure rooms and equipment for daily use and ensure timely room preparation between procedures.
- Independently respond to on‑call needs for emergent procedures.
- Associate’s degree in Sonography, Radiology, or a related field within 3 months of hire, OR completion of a 12‑month ultrasound program within 3 months of hire.
- Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or be registry eligible and become registered within one year from the date of hire.
- Must maintain registry status and continuing education requirements annually. RDCS or RCS‑Preferred.
- One year minimum experience in an acute hospital setting.
- Specific competencies required by the entity.
