SummaryProvides technical expertise in a specific laboratory discipline or program specialty, monitors and directs the workload, and provides consultative and diagnostic results to clinicians.
ScheduleMonday - Friday 7a‑3:30p
Responsibilities- Collects and analyzes data to evaluate products, procedures, processes and laboratory or program needs.
- Consults with healthcare providers and professionals regarding patient care and program issues.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines, establishes and reviews procedures and policies.
- May monitor personnel performance, counsel employees, and provide input into performance evaluations.
- May provide input into the budgetary process by identifying capital equipment needs and anticipating laboratory or program needs.
- May teach Clinical Laboratory Science students, Pathology residents and fellows and new employees.
- Monitors daily operation of laboratory or program.
- Reviews patient testing results, quality control, maintenance, troubleshooting and management reports.
- Bachelors degree required with a minimum of 24 semester hours of science credits.
- Requires MLS/MT (ASCP), MT (NCA) or MT (AMT) certification.
- Requires three years of experience at the medical laboratory technologist, cytotechnologist, or histotechnologist level.
