Overview

Greene Resources is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join a growing and dynamic team to support their finance operations on an ongoing contract basis. This role is responsible for managing the full life cycle of medical claims for assigned payer panels, ensuring claims are submitted accurately and paid in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will bring strong FQHC billing experience, deep knowledge of claims management, and the ability to collaborate across teams to maximize efficiency and revenue integrity.

Job Description Claim Management
  • Manage primary and secondary claims from submission through payment
  • Submit clean claims electronically or via CMS-1500 forms
  • Follow up on denied or rejected claims, resolve issues, and resubmit as needed
  • Document claim denials and rejections; provide feedback to improve billing processes
  • Prepare and submit appeal letters with supporting documentation
  • Post electronic and manual insurance and patient payments accurately in billing systems
Clean Claim Verification
  • Ensure claims are complete, accurate, and ready for submission
  • Resolve duplicate claim issues
  • Review chart documentation for correct coding and potential revenue opportunities
  • Ensure appropriate use of modifiers
  • Verify patient demographics and insurance information for completeness
  • Correct minor claim issues and initiate communication to resolve complex issues, escalating when necessary
Patient Customer Service
  • Respond to patient billing inquiries professionally and clearly
  • Assist with patient statements for balances not covered by insurance
  • Support processing of past-due balances sent to collections
Workflow Analysis & Reporting
  • Track and report claim errors by individual and site
  • Monitor accuracy, quality, and compliance with established billing policies
  • Maintain reporting for point-of-service collections and daily deposits
Position Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing and coding
  • Efficient data entry and keyboarding skills
