Position OverviewEKG Technician II – Night Shift (18:30 – 07:00). 12‑hour shifts, 36 hours per week, biweekly pay period. 2 weekend shifts per 6‑week schedule (Saturday & Sunday).
Duties and Responsibilities- Operate electrocardiograph equipment to record variations in heart muscle action.
- Prepare patients for electrocardiogram, explaining procedures and placing electrodes on arms, legs, and chest.
- Enter patient information into electrocardiograph, including history number and patient name.
- Remove electrodes; add billing charge to requisition slip; review electrocardiogram for technical acceptability.
- Mount electrocardiograms for interpretation by physician; code and distribute EKG data; record and file test information.
- Clean, adjust, and perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Assist in training new personnel.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
- High School Graduate or GED.
- 1 year successful experience as an ECG Technician I.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Accept responsibility for accuracy and responsiveness.
- Work under pressure.
- Perform ECG and ECG related studies.
