Summary

The Occupational Therapist I provides evidence-based evaluation, treatment interventions, and educational instruction to patients and caregivers with various diagnoses, disabilities, and impairments affecting client factors (body function and structures), behavior patterns/roles/habits, and occupational performance. The clinician provides student shadowing, clinical instruction, and participates in departmental and community continuing education and outreach.

This position provides acute care and emergency department coverage for behavioral health patients. Applicants must have a minimum of one year of behavioral health experience or completion of a clinical fellowship.

• Education Requirements: Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Licensure/Certification Requirements: Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state of North Carolina. BLS within 3 months of hire date.
• Professional Experience Requirements: No prior experience required.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Requirements: Exhibits effective communication and interprofessional skills; requires physical stamina and repetitive movements, including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, and squatting during patient interventions while supporting one's weight; can engage in high-level problem-solving to ensure patient safety during mobilization.
