Thales Academy, a growing network of private schools, is looking for a Staff Accountant to work at the Captive Aire corporate office in Raleigh. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role involves maintaining and managing financial operations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day accounts payable and cash receipts processes.
- Conduct month-end and year-end closures and prepare journal entries and financial statements.
- Coordinate and manage the annual budget process and prepare monthly budget reporting.
- Develop and maintain accounting controls.
- BS in Accounting required.
- 3-5 years of work experience.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimal oversight.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel; strong spreadsheet skills.
- Knowledge of an accounting information system; experience with Blackbaud software is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Confidentiality and integrity.
- Good math skills.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Motivated with a positive attitude and a team player.
- This is NOT a remote role.
