Overview

The Business Planning and Support Consultant serves as the first-line Business Owner for supporting execution of First Citizen’s Risk Management requirements within Shared Services, with end-to-end accountability across risk identification, controls, and monitoring. The role ensures audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and continuous risk improvement while enabling Shared Services teams to operate efficiently and at scale.

This position can be located remotely in North Carolina or Arizona.

Responsibilities
  • First-Line Operational Risk Ownership
    • Serve as the first-line Business Owner for operational risk within Shared Services, with end-to-end accountability across:
    • Business processes
    • Procedures
    • Controls
    • Monitoring
  • Lead RCSA coordination for the business, in partnership with Risk teams, including risk identification, control assessment, issue documentation and partner alignment
  • Own and maintain the Operational Risk Dashboard, translating findings into prioritized action plans to close gaps
  • Own and execute QA/QCs, including error remediation and root-cause analysis
  • Oversee Data Loss Prevention (DLP) monitoring and coordinate protection actions
  • Audit Enablement, Testing, and Issue Management
    • Act as the primary liaison for internal audits, risk reviews, and control testing
    • Provide timely, accurate evidence to Risk, Audit, and Regulatory partners
    • Design, execute, and track Issue Corrective Action Plans through resolution
  • Program Ownership
    • Serve as the Business Owner for assigned Enterprise Risk Programs (e.g., Business Continuity Plan Owner), ensuring ongoing readiness and compliance
    • Represent Shared Services in the General Bank Regulatory Change Review forum
    • Partner with BSA/AML teams to support investigations and risk assessments
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Project Planning, and Financial Services industry OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Project Planning, and Financial Services industry
