Neomonde Mediterranean is seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Accountant to lead full-cycle accounting for our multi-unit restaurant group. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in restaurant or hospitality accounting, multi-location financial operations, and GAAP compliance; along with the ability to elevate our systems, processes, and reporting as we prepare for continued growth.

This role oversees all day-to-day accounting functions, including month-end close, financial statement preparation, cash management, sales tax, bank reconciliation, and oversight of AP/AR. The Accounting Manager will work closely with ownership and store leadership to strengthen internal controls, improve financial visibility, and build scalable processes that support a growing organization.

Responsibilities
  • Lead preparation of monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and GAAP compliance.
  • Oversee general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Manage AP and AR functions, ensuring accuracy and timely processing of invoices, vendor payments, and revenue reconciliation.
  • Complete daily and monthly bank reconciliations and maintain strong cash controls.
  • Oversee restaurant-specific accounting processes, including daily sales reconciliation, credit card batches, cash variances, inventory adjustments, and prime cost reporting.
  • Manage sales tax calculations, filings, and compliance across multiple locations.
  • Support cost-of-goods and labor analysis for unit-level and consolidated reporting, providing a weekly dashboard.
  • Ensure accurate accounting for product warehouse, catering, and multi-location allocations.
Process Improvement & Systems Optimization
  • Evaluate and enhance accounting workflows to improve speed, accuracy, and actionable changes.
  • Implement stronger internal controls and standard operating procedures.
  • Optimize accounting software usage (Quick Books), POS integrations, and reporting tools.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting through accurate financial data, variance analysis, and analytic insights.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Support
  • Provide financial guidance and support to restaurant managers and operations leaders.
  • Prepare documentation for audits and interface with external auditors as needed.
  • Mentor and develop management staff knowledge, fostering accuracy, accountability, and efficiency.
  • Partner with senior leadership to support strategic initiatives and long-term financial planning.
Required Background
  • Proven full-cycle accounting experience in a multi-unit restaurant, hospitality, or multi-entity organization.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, revenue reconciliation, and financial reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with Quick Books Online, and Toast POS Preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and multi-sheet modeling.
  • Demonstrated experience with bank reconciliation, sales tax compliance, credit card reconciliation, and cash management.
  • Experience improving accounting processes, internal controls, or system integrations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience supporting audits and working in high-volume or scaling environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
