Accounting Manager

Position Summary

The Accounting Manager oversees the daily operations of the institution's accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting. This role manages accounting staff, supports annual audits, and collaborates across campus departments to maintain strong financial stewardship. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in higher‑education finance and is comfortable navigating fund accounting, grants management, and regulatory reporting requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience in a higher‑education environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting, and audit processes.
• Proven experience with ERP systems commonly used in higher education (e.g., Jenzabar, Workday, etc.).
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• CPA or CMA certification.
• Experience with grants management, endowment accounting, or governmental reporting.
• Supervisory or team‑lead experience in a business office setting.
