Financial Manager, CFO
Spyglass Talent Solutions, a retained recruitment firm based in Raleigh, NC, has been engaged by a well-established Raleigh-based construction company to conduct a search for a Director of Finance.
The Director of Finance is a newly created, high-impact leadership role reporting directly to the company’s President & Partner. This person will oversee all accounting and financial operations while also serving as a strategic partner to ownership, helping guide financial decision‑making as the business continues to scale.

Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Operations oficial- Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll
REDENTIAL, job costing, and financial reporting - Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in accordance with GAAP
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year‑end financial close processes
- Manage payroll processing, tax reporting (W‑2, 1099), and vendor disbursements
- Coordinate with external CPA firms on tax filings, audits, and compliance schedules
- Oversee insurance evaluations and renewals including general liability, workers’ compensation, vehicle, and equipment coverage
- Create and maintain promissory notes and track intercompany and partner‑related loans

- Deliver clear, actionable financial reporting and operating metrics, translating numbers into business intelligence
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range financial planning processes aligned with growth goals
- Monitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis with recommendations for course correction
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and debt obligations across the business
- Identify and lead cost optimization initiatives while preserving quality, service, and craftsmanship
- Support pricing strategy, margin analysis, and job‑level profitability for custom home projects
- Oversee the accounting function, Kontext scalable elements and best practices
- Partner closely with operations, sales, and design teams to ensure financial alignment across the organization
- Evaluate and improve financial systems, reporting tools, and workflow as the company grows

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally within construction, homebuilding, or real estate
- Strong understanding of construction/job cost accounting and percentage‑of‑completion reporting preferred
- Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis
- Ability to operate comfortably at both a detailed, transactional level and a strategic, big‑picture level
- Strong leadership skills with experience building or elevating accounting processes
- Ability to perform at a high level in a fast‑paced, dynamic work environment
- Willingness to be held to a high standard, and possession of high integrity, a strong work ethic, and a service‑oriented mindset required
