Position: Game Day Operations Assistant (Part-Time, Temporary)

Game Day Operations Assistant (Part-Time, Temporary) at Wake Technical Community College

Supporting intercollegiate athletics at various Wake Tech athletics venues (Wake Tech North Campus, South Campus, and off-campus) to support home game operations including, but not limited to, operating game clock, scoring, concessions, or ticketing. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described.

Responsibilities
  • Keep official scorebook for home games, operate game clock, operate shot clock, or other scoreable duties.
  • Marketing and promotion duties may include updating, and distributing sandwich boards on campus to promote athletics and recreation programs on campus; promoting social media through tabling activities in high traffic areas on campus.
  • Assist in setting up and striking (clean-up) venue for home games including, but not limited to, setting up tables, chairs, water coolers, cups, towels, public address system, etc.
  • Assist in setting up concessions and operations to include point of sale operations and handling cash.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned in support of the college’s goals and core values.
  • Pending college approval (driving record check), may assist with driving designated athletic teams to away games.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • General knowledge of sports and playing rules.
  • Must have a pleasant attitude with the ability to work harmoniously with the staff, faculty, and general public.
  • Must have good customer service skills, good computer skills, and be eager to work.
  • Must be punctual.
  • Standing, walking, and ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
