Entry‑Level Power Distribution Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Entry‑Level Power Distribution Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early‑career professionals with an engineering degree who are eager to start a career in power systems and electrical distribution. You will assist in the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical distribution systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
Responsibilities- Assist in the design and layout of overhead and underground power distribution systems.
- Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and equipment sizing.
- Support the preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including project managers, field engineers, and utility representatives.
- Conduct site visits to gather data and support construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting activities.
- Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, GIS, and power system analysis programs.

Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related discipline)

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the power distribution field
The role involves a dynamic work environment where you will collaborate with various teams and conduct site visits. You will utilize technologies such as AutoCAD, GIS, and power system analysis software to support your work. The position requires flexibility in working hours to accommodate project schedules.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
