Deputy Project Leader (Telecommunications)
This is a training position that involves learning to supervise and direct employees on a project, prepare strategic plans and budgets, develop comprehensive project plans, and analyze statistical data.
The Deputy Project Leader must have experience in technology systems integration, including passive and active communication infrastructure, with a proven ability to lead design and construction teams. Responsibilities include assisting in leading a team that provides Communications and Electronic Safety and Security infrastructure, including ISP/OSP pathways and cabling, networking, wireless systems, CCTV, access control, A/V, and other technology applications, ensuring design efficiency and contractual compliance.
Assisting in the design and deployment of Information Transport Systems and telecommunications systems.
Additional duties involve running day-to-day project operations, identifying and resolving change orders, managing project costs, maintaining as-builts, documenting issues, planning project completion, interpreting blueprints, preparing estimates, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring timely decision-making and documentation.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
5+ years working for a telecommunications integrator or electrical contractor, with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar. Experience with telecommunication and security projects ranging from $500,000 to $10M. Familiarity with contract documents, project management software, CPM scheduling, AutoCAD, and technical plans. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work flexibly, including occasional nights and weekends, with up to 25% travel.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required.
Clearance:
Applicants may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information.
Preferred
Skills:
Estimating software (e.g., Accubid), Primavera P6 scheduling, and willingness to travel.
Abilities include prolonged computer use, physical dexterity, effective communication, and problem-solving skills.
