HC Solutions Group is partnering with a respected, multi disciplinary engineering firm in Raleigh, NC to identify a Staff Engineer to support Land Development projects. This is a full time, permanent opportunity with exposure to both private and public sector site development work across multiple market sectors.

About the RoleThe Staff Engineer will play a key role in delivering Land Development projects from schematic design through construction. This position combines technical design, regulatory coordination, client interaction, and internal team leadership.
The ideal Staff Engineer will bring experience in site design, stormwater management, permitting, and project management while maintaining a big picture perspective across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities- Oversee preparation of Land Development Plans from schematic design through construction
- Develop engineering design drawings, technical specifications, and engineering reports
- Coordinate permitting efforts with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies
- Perform zoning interpretation and prepare feasibility studies
- Lead stormwater management design including Hydrologic and Hydraulic modeling and Erosion and Sediment Control planning
- Ensure compliance with local ordinances and regulatory requirements
- Interface directly with regulatory agencies and review authorities
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and client communication
- Prepare proposals and track project financial performance
- Provide quality control review of engineering design and technical reports
- Mentor junior engineers and support team development
- Contribute to business development through client relationship management
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline
- 5+ years of professional engineering experience with Land Development projects
- Experience preparing site development plans and engineering reports
- Strong understanding of zoning, permitting, and regulatory processes
- Experience with stormwater management design and H&H modeling
- Proficiency with engineering design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- Professional Engineer license in North Carolina
- Experience with infrastructure improvement projects
- Familiarity with Bluebeam and project management tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced team environment
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and leadership capability
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience and licensure level. Higher level consideration to be given for candidates with additional experience.
