This is a unique “first on the ground” opportunity to establish our West Coast consulting presence and build trusted relationships with data center developers, hyperscalers, utilities, and key CAISO/WECC stakeholders. Designed for high autonomy, this sole‑contributor role blends business development, client engagement, and delivery support—backed by a strong national consulting organization.
As the West Coast business scales, this position could evolve into a leadership path, including the potential to build a local team or transition into a broader General Management or Business Development role.

How you’ll make an impact- Build Hitachi Energy’s consulting presence and pipeline across the West Coast.
- Develop trusted relationships with hyperscalers, data‑center developers, engineering partners, and utilities.
- Lead discovery, qualification, and shaping of new consulting opportunities.
- Translate client needs into scopes, deliverables, schedules, and commercial proposals.
- Drive proposal development, negotiation, and value differentiation.
- Support project execution through leadership, client engagement, and milestone involvement.
- Identify scalable offerings, partnership models, and regional growth opportunities.
- Represent Hitachi Energy at conferences, working groups, and industry events.
- Proven success in consulting or advisory business development, including full capture ownership.
- Strong familiarity with West Coast grid stakeholders, planning processes, and utility/ISO interfaces.
- Experience supporting large‑load customers (e.g., data centers, industrials) on interconnection, power quality, resiliency, or procurement topics.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field with power systems coursework.
- Typically 8–12+ years in power system studies, grid integration, planning, or consulting roles.
- Comfortable operating independently, navigating ambiguity, and balancing BD with delivery.
- Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Experience with analysis tools (e.g., PSSE, PSLF, PSCAD, PROMOD) and programming tools such as Python.
- West Coast–based and willing to travel up to 25%.
