Aboutthe Role
A leading engineering firm is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer for its hybrid role in Kernersville, NC. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about designing and developing control systems across various industries. As a Controls Engineer, you will create and implement control solutions, focusing on PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems to meet project requirements.
Responsibilities- Design and develop control systems (logic software and hardware) for diverse industry requirements.
- Collaborate on large and small‑scale projects, developing control logic software, schematics, and user interfaces.
- Design control system configuration and equipment panel layouts with AutoCAD.
- Support system start‑up, commissioning, debugging, and documentation.
- Manage automation projects in power generation, pharmaceuticals, water/wastewater, and data centers.
- Ensure alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
- Develop strong client relationships and work effectively within a team.
- BS in Electrical, Computer, or Chemical Engineering preferred; AA in Engineering Technology or equivalent experience may be considered.
- 7‑10 years of experience in control systems, ladder logic programming, and SCADA programming.
- Proficiency in PLC and SCADA systems (e.g., Rockwell Factory Talk, Wonderware InTouch, Client Proficy).
- Experience with instrumentation and control systems, and familiarity with AutoCAD.
- Strong organizational, time‑management, and collaborative skills.
- Hybrid, with on‑site client interactions as needed.
- Flexibility for fieldwork in industrial settings and variable travel.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring computer usage, fieldwork, and operation of industrial equipment.
