This role is designed to grow into a Regional OT Engineering Lead as we expand across the Triad and RTP.

If you’ve been the go-to person inside a plant for PLC backups, automation stability, and production network issues — and you want to shape standards across multiple facilities instead of maintaining just one — this is worth a conversation.

Surya is building a production resilience platform for mid-market manufacturers across the Triad and RTP only
. Travel is regional. You’ll be home most evenings. Occasional extended days may happen during major deployments, but this is not a travel‑heavy role.

We operate out of a 17,000 sq ft OT-focused facility in RTP built around an OT NOC/SOC and device provisioning center.

You won’t be alone.

We have a senior networking and infrastructure team with decades of experience. You lead plant‑side execution. They support what you architect.

In the plant you will be very hands on — we are focused on 1‑2 day deployment sprints, centered around setting our appliance up, doing passive discovery, and working with maintenance engineers to configure PLC backups.

What You’ll Do (Year
1)
  • Lead onsite deployments alongside maintenance and controls teams
  • Map and document production networks using passive monitoring
  • Mentor junior engineers from local PLC programs
  • Establish technical standards we will scale on
What This Becomes (Year 2+)
  • Lead a small team of field engineers
  • Own plant‑side technical standards for Surya
  • Help shape the long‑term production infrastructure strategy

Compensation

Base: $130k–$165k depending on experience
