Service Engineer

DEPARTMENT: HBT Controls Service

REPORTS TO:

Service Manager or Operations Supervisor

JOB TITLE:

Service Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

Perform engineering tasks as required to ensure proper system operability and completion of assigned projects or work orders in a timely manner. Typical tasks are; as built documentation, wiring diagrams, programming, graphic creations, onsite big picture and limited troubleshooting. Provide remote troubleshooting support for customers as required. This is a exempt salaried position (no overtime).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

* Maintain Hoffman standard engineering practices

* Maintain industry technical knowledge

* Engineering/Programming as required

* Onsite Big Picture Tasks as required

* Limited travel as required

* Remote troubleshooting support as required

* Provide Consistent and Clear Communications and Mentoring as required (Supervisor, Service Coordinator, Account Manager, Project Manager, Technicians and Customers)

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

* Knowledge of HVAC DDC Control Theory & Applications

* Proficient with Alerton/Tridium Programming

* Experience with electronics and electrical circuits

* Strong troubleshooting skills

* Computer hardware and software skills

* Ability to work independently and unsupervised

* Strong communications and interactive skills

CREDENTIALS AND

EXPERIENCE:

* AA degree in applied technology (preferred)

* Equivalent combination of education and experience

* HVAC and/or Mechanical systems experience

* Computer programming experience

* Troubleshooting experience
