Project Manager – Civil / Land Development

I’m hiring for a confidential civil engineering & land development consulting firm in the Raleigh area. This is a senior project leadership role for someone who enjoys owning site development projects end-to-end
, acting as the day-to-day client lead, and building/mentoring a strong delivery team.

You’ll manage a steady pipeline of work supporting commercial, institutional, and residential development across the Raleigh–Durham region.

What you’ll be responsible for

• Lead projects from early concept through approvals and construction documentation
• Manage schedules, scope, and budgets while keeping delivery quality high
• Serve as the main contact for clients, municipalities, and project stakeholders
• Coordinate internal design resources and guide junior PMs/engineers
• Support permitting strategy and navigate local review processes
• Track financials (contracts, invoicing, change orders) and communicate risks early
• Participate in client meetings and, when needed, public/community sessions
• Contribute to account growth through strong delivery and relationship management

What they’re looking for

• BS in Civil Engineering (or closely related)
• 10+ years in land development/site civil design and permitting
• Experience leading multi-discipline site projects and managing client expectations
• Strong project controls: scope, fee, schedule, and team leadership
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and stormwater tools/workflows
• PE preferred (or on track, depending on fit)
