Position: Direct Current for Data Center System Architect - Integration DC Solutions

Overview

Eaton’s Electrical Sector is seeking a Direct Current for Data Center (DC4DC) System Architect – Integration DC Solutions who will play a critical, execution-focused role in ensuring Eaton’s direct current power solutions operate seamlessly across interconnected products, controls, and systems. This role may be remote within the US, or located in Moon Township, PA, or Raleigh, NC (preferred). Relocation assistance is available to Raleigh, NC only.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Product Development for Direct Current, this role supports reliable and safe performance of 800

VDC datacenter power distribution systems. The position works closely with engineering teams, product lines, and strategic customers to guide integration architecture, validate cross‑system interactions, support system‑level testing and deployment readiness, and deliver field‑based feedback that improves product and installation quality. The role also partners with systems modeling and product teams to help develop an interactive customer-facing ROI model that evaluates key factors such as product and installation cost, footprint, and electrical efficiency.

While heavily involved in system-level execution, this role does not define system architecture; instead, it strengthens end‑to‑end technical integrity by providing customer and operational insights to architecture teams.

Responsibilities
  • Apply system‑integration design considerations and trade‑offs—including cost, safety, reliability, maintainability, constructability/modularity, interoperability, and operational behavior—to support design and deployment of DC power system solutions.
  • Evaluate product and system interoperability by reviewing interface documentation, protection & controls interactions, thermal and mechanical constraints, and installation requirements to ensure cohesive system performance.
  • Engage directly with customers during opportunity development, RFP responses, technical workshops, and design reviews to provide expert guidance on system‑integration best practices.
  • Collect, document, and communicate Voice of Customer (VOC) insights related to system behavior, installation preferences, safety expectations, and operational practices, translating these into actionable feedback for engineering and product line teams.
  • Assess applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and compliance requirements to determine their impact on system layout, clearances, grounding, arc‑flash mitigation, and operator safety.
  • Provide technical guidance on thermal behavior, ampacity considerations, product spacing, high‑density installation implications, and interconnection methods relevant to DC system integration.
  • Support integration events, lab evaluations, and system readiness reviews by identifying cross‑product performance risks, validating expected interactions, and collaborating with responsible engineering teams to resolve issues.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional alignment among product lines, applications engineering, quality, supply chain, and field deployment teams to promote predictable, reliable system operation.
  • Support pilot deployments, customer trials, and co‑innovation efforts by assisting in system‑level sequencing, installation planning, test execution, and validation of real‑world interoperability.
  • Develop and maintain system‑integration guidelines, best practices, lessons learned, and deployment recommendations to strengthen repeatability and reduce risk across programs.
  • Participate in early‑phase design reviews to provide integration insight and field‑informed considerations, complementing rather than defining architectural or modeling decisions owned by higher‑level engineering roles.
  • Identify system‑integration risks, contribute to mitigation planning, and ensure issues are appropriately escalated to technical authorities, supporting predictable execution and continuous improvement.
Your Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in system integration, system engineering, field engineering, or multi‑product system deployment within power systems, datacenters, or industrial applications
  • Demonstrated experience supporting customer‑facing technical…
