Responsibilities
- Develop new clients/proposals by working with past or new clients.
- Train and develop geotechnical engineers: evaluate skills, hire, mentor, set goals, review semiannually.
- Serve as primary contact for clients, acting as lead interaction point.
- Act as technical expert: assist regional directors/project managers, review field work and documents.
- Recruit engineering staff: partner with ECS Corporate Services, attend recruiting fairs, build university relationships.
- Maintain technical proficiency: monitor skills of new hires, provide training/educational programs to keep the company at the leading edge of technology. li>Develop client‑focused educational programs that add value to current and prospective clients.
- Keep staff abreast of regulatory changes; establish communication channels to provide updates.
- Act as a public‑relations ambassador, proactively presenting the company’s capabilities to the public.
- Participate or lead the review committee for subsidiary engineers seeking principal promotion.
- Attend national conferences (IFCEE, PDCA, DFI, ASCE, ADSC, etc.) and submit at least one scholarly paper or conference presentation each year.
- Address professional liability concerns proactively with stakeholders and legal staff until resolved.
- Assist in establishing new service lines in different offices (e.g., pile‑driving analyzer, dynamic testing services, monitoring services).
- BS and MS in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited college/university with a concentration in geotechnical engineering.
- 20+ years of technical, managerial, and training experience.
- Must have a PE license, or be capable of obtaining local licensure within six months following hire.
- Valid driver’s license required if driving for or on behalf of an ECS subsidiary.
