Job Overview

REMAC Inc. is seeking a seasoned Senior Airports Estimator & Project Manager to lead the estimating and execution support for critical airfield pavement preservation projects. In this dual‑role position, you’ll manage the bid process from takeoff through submission, and then continue post‑award as the project lead—coordinating materials, schedules, subcontractors, and compliance in active airfield environments.

This is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled aviation‑focused professional to work on runways, taxiways, and aprons across the region, ensuring timely, safe, and cost‑effective project delivery under the demanding constraints of airport operations.

REMAC Inc. is a specialized pavement preservation contractor serving commercial, general aviation, and military airports throughout the Mid‑Atlantic and Southeast. Our niche expertise includes crack sealing, joint sealing, rubber removal, and striping—delivered with precision in active airfield environments. We take pride in safely extending the life of runways and taxiways while meeting the highest standards in FAA compliance and operational coordination.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates for airfield maintenance and preservation services
    • Crack and joint sealing
    • Rubber and marking removal
    • Striping and paint application
    • Pavement cleaning, rejuvenation, and sealing
  • Review airport bid documents, phasing plans, NOTAMs, and safety protocols
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and production‑based cost estimates
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to finalize pricing
  • Assist in developing bid strategies and submitting competitive proposals
  • Project Management & Execution Support
    • Oversee post‑award activities including
      • Crew scheduling and phasing around airport operations
      • Material and equipment coordination
      • Mobilization and demobilization logistics
    • Track quantities, production rates, and project costs
    • Prepare and submit accurate pay applications and closeout documentation
    • Represent REMAC in meetings with airport staff, engineers, and inspectors
    • Support field teams to ensure adherence to airfield safety and operational guidelines
  • Client & Internal Coordination
    • Serve as the primary contact for assigned aviation projects
    • Collaborate with field supervisors and operations management
    • Maintain strong, professional relationships with airport and contractor personnel
Qualifications
  • Required
    • Minimum 3–5 years of experience estimating and managing airfield or aviation pavement projects
    • Knowledge of airport safety protocols, operational phasing, and FAA specifications
    • Experience preparing bids and managing public agency projects
    • Strong communication, documentation, and leadership skills
    • Proficiency in spreadsheets, estimating software, and documentation systems
    • Willingness to travel frequently to airports throughout the Mid‑Atlantic and Southeast
  • Preferred
    • Experience working on active runways or taxiways
    • Familiarity with FAA pavement maintenance standards
    • Background in unit‑price contracts and public bid processes
    • Technical knowledge of preservation methods specific to aviation pavement

Schedule

Full‑Time, Monday to Friday

Travel required based on project needs; overnight stays at airport locations are typical
