The ideal candidate will be a Seller/Doer with strong management and design skills, capable of developing and communicating design concepts from the client to staff of designers and engineers and ensuring project delivery.

The Civil Engineer Project Manager will oversee production staff and contribute skills in land development design and engineering from scope to final design, assisting the construction administration team as required.

Location:

This position can join any of our North Carolina offices and will be expected to come into the office at least 3 days a week.

• Coordinate all activities with Senior Project Managers, the Group Manager, and the Division Manager
• Business Development and Marketing, including networking, preparation of SOQs, proposals, and contracts
• Manage Design Consultants and Clients
• Develop concepts or schematic designs, including layout, grading, hydrology, and utilities
• Research local/state regulations as they pertain to site planning
• Research non-routine code issues and obtain interpretations from code officials
• Incorporate design concepts from schematic design into design development and work with the project team to produce construction documents

• 12+ years of industry experience
• B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software
• Must be licensed PE in the state of NC
• Excellent communication, strong written, oral, and client relation skills, experience interacting with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders
• Understanding and knowledge of applicable codes
• Experienced in Project Management, including design cost control, project budget control, and quality assurance/quality control
• Able to successfully manage staff both individually and as teams
• Experience working with public agencies, private entities, and/or municipalities
• Design experience with site development and other best practices
• Strong organization and leadership skills
• Accustomed to working in a team environment on challenging projects
