Arcadis is seeking a Stormwater Engineer to join our North Carolina drainage practice. We have a strong backlog of work and need to expand our NC team in Charlotte, Greensboro or Raleigh. Under the direction of our Senior Hydraulic Design Manager, you will work on exciting projects that will challenge you and provide growth in your career. We offer a flexible work environment with local, national, and international projects from the office and/or home.
Roleaccountabilities
- Engineering design for roadway drainage and design-build projects including collector streets, urban arterials, rural and urban expressways, interstates, and bridge replacements across the southeast.
- Assist in all aspects of roadway drainage design including bridge hydraulic studies, culvert design, closed drainage system design, post-construction water quality structures design, and erosion and sedimentation control.
- Prepare construction plans and project displays.
- Prepare cost estimates, reports and technical memos.
- Utilize design software including Open Roads, Microsoft Excel, GIS, HEC-RAS, HY8, Flow Master, ICPR, Storm
CAD, SMS, SRH2D, and HEC-RAS 2D to assist with design and construction plans. - Coordinate with project managers, ecologists, and roadway engineers.
- 2 or more years of drainage design
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- EIT preferred
- Experience with NCDOT projects is a plus
- Basic understanding of FEMA floodplain regulations
- Knowledge of stormwater design including open channel conveyance and closed drainage systems
- Knowledge of stormwater treatment using BMPs suitable for transportation projects
- Good communication (written and verbal), teamwork, and flexibility to complete diverse tasks including field work
- Initiative and ability to tackle new projects and challenges
