Responsibilities- Under general supervision, creates excavation, dewatering, shallow/deep foundations, dams/reservoirs/levees, geo-environmental projects, etc. engineering designs of basic to moderate complexity to meet client project requirements.
- Reviews draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
- Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
- Performs site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications. Updates design requirements as necessary.
- Performs soil sampling analyses and modeling.
- Contributes to the firm s TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc.
- Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
- Performs other duties as required.
- May create or work with a team to create a poster or other presentation material for a conference.
- Bachelor s degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Mining or Geologic Engineering or related discipline.
- 1 year of related experience. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on duties and workload.
- Intermediate knowledge of computer aided design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
- Knowledge of engineering principles of design.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Good written and verbal communications skills.
