Barton Associates is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Designer/Engineer with 4+ years of experience in the MEP industry to join our team.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical systems for commercial, institutional, and residential projects.
- Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction phases.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports for review by Senior Engineer or Technical Director.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal electrical codes and standards.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Work with multi-disciplinary project teams and clients to determine project design criteria, applicable building and energy codes, and full building electrical systems design.
- Provide equipment selections, calculations, and layouts for building systems generally consisting of building services, grounding systems, emergency systems, lighting, building power, and low voltage design and layout, including fire alarm, nurse call, telecommunications, and other specialty low voltage building systems.
- Interact with clients to discuss system design alternatives and recommended solutions, and work with senior engineers to implement projects.
- 2-year Electrical Engineering Technology Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Architectural engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in the MEP industry.
- Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer (PE) certification a plus.
- Advanced skills and experience in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD and REVIT).
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
