WATER RESOURCE ENGINEER
A growing engineering firm is seeking a licensed Water Resources Engineer to support a range of transportation and environmental infrastructure projects across North Carolina. This role offers mentorship, collaboration, and hands-on experience in hydrologic and hydraulic design, stormwater management, and environmental permitting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) calculations
- Prepare technical reports and permit applications (wetlands, waterways, SWM, ESC)
- Conduct site field reviews to evaluate existing drainage and floodplain conditions
- Support design work for stream restoration and bridge scour projects
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering with a water resources or environmental focus
- PE license in North Carolina
- 5–8 years of experience with storm drain systems, bridges, culverts, open channel flow, and erosion control
- Strong understanding of environmental permitting and NCDOT hydraulic standards
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency with Micro Station, Open Roads, HEC-RAS, HY-8, Flow Master
- Familiarity with NC Roadside Environmental Unit ESC requirements
