Arcadis is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Design & Engineering team within the North America Places group. The role sits in the Places Global Business Area (GBA) and focuses on creating, supporting and enhancing smart, safe, and sustainable places, including Data Centers, Transit Facilities, Commercial & Retail, Mixed-Use Residential, Institutional, and Social Infrastructure developments.

This role provides first‑in‑class mechanical solutions to internal and external clients. You will leverage HVAC, plumbing, piping, and related building systems and work with clients to produce high‑quality deliverables from early planning reports to construction document packages.

Location:

Raleigh, North Carolina. Flexible working hours are offered. Travel up to 20% may be required, including overnight stays.

• Sustainable electrical engineering expertise: develop engineering reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications.

• 10+ years of relevant MEP experience in Retail, Workplace, Transit, and Education.
• Professional Engineer in North Carolina.
• Strong communication skills for client interactions.
• Comfort in client‑facing discussions.
• Experience with Autodesk platforms and BIM, including Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).

• BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng or equivalent in engineering.

• Experience working on Arcadis legacy projects or with IBI.
• Full‑service consulting design firm experience and coordination with in‑house A/E resources.
• Adaptable to new digital tools such as AI.
• Practical sustainability and carbon reduction experience.
• Experience in urban environments with transformative solutions.
• User‑experience‑centric projects requiring narrow engineering solutions.
