We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled GIS Analyst to join the Operational Excellence team and deliver world‑class support across the enterprise. This position plays a pivotal role in maintaining accurate geospatial data that underpins Martin Marietta’s Enterprise GIS framework. The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated experience working with diverse GIS data types, integrating datasets into GIS platforms, and executing tasks that serve a broad range of stakeholders.
Location:
The GIS Analyst will be based in Raleigh, NC, and report to the Manager, GIS.
- Develop, maintain, and update Enterprise GIS datasets related to property boundaries, ownership, zoning, and land use.
- Integrate property records from various sources (deeds, plats, tax records) into Enterprise GIS databases.
- Collect, clean, and maintain geospatial datasets from various sources (e.g., satellite imagery, GPS, surveys).
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across GIS databases and deliverables.
- Integrate spatial data with tabular data from external systems (e.g., property records, census data).
- Design and produce high‑quality maps, applications, and visualizations for reports and presentations.
- Customize symbology, labeling, and layouts to meet unique user requirements.
- Design and implement workflow automation for repeatable geoprocessing tasks.
- Initiate and maintain easy‑to‑follow documentation relating to data development and administration.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
- Have three or more years of progressively and responsible experience in developing, integrating, implementing, and maintaining GIS data and technologies.
- GISP Certification preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Esri ArcGIS Suite (Pro, Online, Enterprise etc.).
- Familiarity with land records systems, tax assessment databases, and legal property descriptions.
- Strong understanding of coordinate systems, topology, and spatial data integrity.
- Familiarity with public land survey systems (PLSS) and legal land descriptions.
- Experience with SQL, Python, and Model Builder for geoprocessing tasks.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with work ticketing systems, such as Service Now.
- Superb time management and judgment skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including report writing.
- Communicate findings clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills; self‑motivated with the ability to work productively in both individual and group settings.
- Ability to independently diagnose, analyze, and resolve technology issues.
