Land Development / Site Civil Project Manager – Raleigh, NC

Robert G. Campbell and Associates is seeking an enterprising individual with high technical and interpersonal skills to be a key performer on our site design team. The right candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial sites that will allow professional and personal growth. We are building an outstanding team that will work directly with clients to navigate regulatory and site challenges for great site projects to completion.

The ideal candidate can work independently based on project requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises the execution of projects including technical, financial, client coordination, approvals, and permitting issues
  • Prepares proposals with project schedules and fees
  • Assigns and directs efforts of staff, and approves staff timesheets
  • Leads and mentors design professionals to grow the site development team
  • Ensures that all steps and procedures are followed throughout federal, state, and local jurisdictional requirements
  • Supervises construction administration duties such as meetings, site visits, responses to RFIs, and review of shop drawings
  • Interfaces with clients as required, including periodic project status updates
  • Actively manages quality control throughout a project
  • Responsible for project financials, including invoicing
  • Maintains profitability goals for projects set by the Manager
  • Establishes and maintains client relationships
  • Manages key relationships by marketing the Firm’s services to new and existing clients
  • Manages and maintains Department CAD standards and file system
Qualifications
  • Broad experience in site design, including grading, drainage, detention, and erosion control
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with stormwater design – pipe sizing, detention, and other facilities using Hydro

    CAD or similar
  • Inspires high performance from the team
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Requires completion of a pre‑employment screening; RGC&A is a drug‑free workplace
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of a BS in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or related discipline from an ABET‑accredited university or related technical certificate
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience and a PE license (licensed in the State of NC, SC, or TN, or the option to be licensed quickly through reciprocity with other states)
  • Advanced knowledge of civil engineering design requirements and principles
  • Proficiency with Hydro

    CAD (or similar storm water modeling software) and comfortable using CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson, and/or Micro Station
Physical and Environmental Requirements

This position can involve up to 8 hours per day in an office. Travel and client meetings are also required, with occasional standing and walking. The employee may occasionally lift lightweight office supplies and materials, typically not exceeding 20 pounds. The office environment is indoors, characterized by controlled temperatures and minimal exposure to adverse conditions. Employees must have the ability to visually discern and differentiate details and colors of objects, be proficient in recognizing sound, tone, and pitch, and possess clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.

The role demands adaptability to interruptions and changes in workflow, as well as the capacity to sit for extended periods.
