Position Overview: Mid‑level role supporting EPC project design work for power generation projects. Designers are responsible for developing detailed raceway designs including cable tray and above‑ground conduit from concept to completion. Our staff leads and collaborates with Kiewit’s construction teams to approach construction‑driven engineering with a focus on safe, cost‑effective, and innovative designs that achieve client expectations and further Kiewit’s legacy of excellence.

Location: This position can be based in any of the following office locations:
Lenexa, KS;
Lone Tree, CO;
Houston, TX;
Raleigh, NC;
Phoenix/Tempe, AZ;
New York City, NY; or Woodcliff Lake, NJ. For roles in Chattanooga, TN;
Detroit, MI; or Richmond, VA, the position will start remotely and transition to a hybrid/in‑office arrangement once the new office is established.

Responsibilities:

• Design cable tray, grounding and lighting systems from concept to completion
• Perform calculations to size and check allowable fill in conduits and cable tray systems according to NEC requirements
• Route electrical cables in a 3D environment to generate a cable schedule
• Perform layout of electrical equipment in electrical buildings
• Develop 3D models utilizing drawings, sketches, and design skills
• Check and navigate in the 3D models for interferences and constructability
• Perform calculations to size pull boxes according to NEC requirements
• Design and draft intermediate electrical drawings
• Work independently applying standards correctly to design without supervision
• Initiate development of personal objectives aligned with organization goals
• Perform assigned work efficiently to maximize productivity
• Comply with company standards to produce quality deliverables
• Complete miscellaneous tasks to support project development
• Participate in project meetings as required

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years’ experience in electrical design
ower generation experience preferred
• Experience in Smart Plant 3D
• Experience in AutoCAD or Micro Station
• Experience designing cable tray from concept to completion
• Experience in grounding systems
• Experience utilizing the NEC
• Must be able to conceptualize in a 3D environment
• Ability to work in a growing, adaptive and multi‑discipline team environment
• Ability to work independently with limited direction and oversight
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English

Base Compensation: $73,000 – $76,000 per year (actual compensation subject to variation due to education, experience, skillset, and/or location). This posting will be active from 01/08/2026 to 04/01/2026.
