Job DescriptionThe role will be based in our Raleigh office and will involve contributing to the planning, design, and implementation of water and wastewater, and stormwater projects under the guidance of senior engineers, designers, and project managers.
Responsibilities- Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of stormwater management, water and wastewater treatment, and water quality improvement projects.
- Conduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Create design sketches, diagrams, and final working drawings.
- Carry out engineering analyses, prepare reports and technical specifications.
- Collaborate within project teams to meet objectives within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Collect and analyze data, perform field work, and undertake site inspections.
- Attend site visits and client meetings.
- Maintain project records and contribute to progress reports.
- Use computer software to solve basic engineering problems.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering with academic focus on water, wastewater, or stormwater infrastructure.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Master’s degree in civil, environmental, or related field.
- Prior experience in water and wastewater engineering design, construction, or operations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and other design software.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., Storm Wise, SWMM, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS).
- Familiarity with additional tools such as Power BI and structural design packages.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Interest in water/wastewater infrastructure design and willingness to travel and work in the field.
- Relocation assistance is not available.

Annual salary range: $65,000 – $80,000, based on education, qualifications, experience, and location.
