Roadway Engineer

Parrish & Partners is seeking a Roadway Engineer for our Raleigh, NC office. The individual should enjoy working in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment and possess the communication skills necessary to coordinate with staff and other design disciplines. This person will work with staff on various transportation improvement projects including interstate/interchanges, roadway widening, bridge replacements, and new location projects.

• Collecting and analyzing project data
• Leading or assisting in the design and development of roadway plans, specifications, design calculations, and technical documents
• Calculating quantities and developing cost estimates
• Producing a complete plan set
• Working with other design disciplines
• Excellent problem‑solving and critical thinking skills
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

• BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited curriculum
• EI/EIT Certification with the ability to obtain a PE license
• 5+ years’ experience in the field of civil engineering specializing in roadway design for NCDOT and local municipalities
• Proficiency with AASHTO and NCDOT roadway design guidelines, standards and specifications
• Proficiency using Micro Station, GEOPAK/Corridor Modeling, and Open Roads Designer
• NCDOT highway design experience
