Design Technician – Raleigh, NC

As a Virtual Design Technician, you will be responsible for producing models and documentation by using Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. They will work closely with other Technicians/Coordinators, Designers, and Engineers on projects. This position will be expected to work within the project’s monetary budget as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.

Some key duties and responsibilities include:
  • Model, edit, rework, and update models and drawings as communicated by project designers through markups
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to develop models and drawings
  • Assist engineers and designers with field measurements of existing building systems and prepare models and drawings from field data
  • Export documents and transfer files to clients
  • Follow established standards for modeling and production of drawings and are of quality acceptable to the company
  • Coordinate models and workflow between members of the design team
Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of technical plans and models desired
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering as-built drawings desired
  • Basic experience in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of colleagues and clients
  • Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • High level of professionalism
Education and experience requirements are:
  • Associate degree or certificate in Building Information Modeling (BIM) preferred
  • No experience required
  • Revit skills desired
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship

Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
