The Role

BGC provides an opportunity to develop an exciting career that builds on fundamental skills gained during university. Graduate engineers and geoscientists at BGC can expect a mix of field and office work that supports a wide variety of clients in the mining, transportation, pipeline, energy, and community sectors, completed under the guidance of technical experts. Typical field work includes site investigations (including drilling and downhole testing, test pitting, field mapping, geophysical surveys, instrumentation installation, river/stream inspection, and engineering geology assessment) and construction monitoring.

Field work typically involves 2-3 weeklong field stints in remote areas, and may include multiple shifts, or a scheduled rotation. Typical office work includes reporting and interpretation of field data, engineering or geoscience analysis including material and site characterization, interpretation of instrumentation data, and contribution to designs.

Our ideal candidate has a strong academic background, relevant work experience and a desire to travel and work in diverse and remote conditions. This is an expression of interest to work out of our Brisbane, Australia location.
