Overview
Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part-time faculty to teach World Language classes. World Languages would include any language currently spoken in the world today such as Spanish, French, German, Italian, Korean, Arabic, etc. Openings for this position may or may not be available at this time; however, after a review of qualifications, applicants may be contacted in the future.
Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction in assigned courses on a part-time, temporary basis.

Responsibilities- Prepares instruction that reflects appropriate learning objectives
- Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course
- Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
- Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
- Uses formative and summative assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
- Adheres to prescribed curriculum and a schedule of instruction
- Remains up to date on technology and methods of teaching with technology
- Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
- Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
- Provides feedback and/or grades on students’ class work, assignments, and tests/quizzes in a timely manner
- Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
Demonstrated proficiency in English reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
Demonstrated expert fluency in the target language in all skills, including reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, and vocabulary.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationships with students, peers, supervisors, and staff.
Demonstrated ability to utilize technology as needed for instruction in both online and seated classes including the use of Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and internet-based activities.
Working knowledge of current trends in language teaching and learning.
Minimum RequirementsExperience teaching a second or foreign language to a group of students in a professional setting.
